Fewer Christian artists have attended more classes at the “School of Hard Knocks” lately than Addison Road. It’s hard enough getting a band off the ground, creating some fan buzz, creating some income, and ministering to audiences where ever you perform. For Addison Road, those complications were multiplied by their van and trailer being stolen twice, along with all their gear – only to have the recovered van later getting totaled in a collision with a fallen oak tree. Separately, a rented RV the band was using burned to the ground, containing all the members’ possessions.

Is all this reason to cause band member to give up and find some other line of work – or is it the inspirational building blocks to write, record, and perform profound songs with deep heartfelt messages that audiences will connect with?

For Addison Road, all the elements are in place for the latter – with the release of their CD, Stories.

Produced by Grammy-nominated Chris Stevens (Matthew West, TobyMac, Big Daddy Weave), with some song-writing help from TobyMac, Stories is honest, compelling, and musically inviting. The album shows a musically mature group; utilizing a wide variety of styles and textures to express themselves, including the addition of harmonica and banjo from bassist Travis Lawrence. It’s not sugar-coated “feel-good” tripe, but music that frankly conveys a group that has seen its share of disappointments. Yet, those setbacks are yielding a rich pallet of composition, and causing the group to look outside this world for their ultimate hope and provision.

Let’s take a look at some of the more significant songs….

“Fight Another Day”, the group’s first radio release from this album, is written by TobyMac. It shares the same acoustic guitar/bass energy we enjoy from his music. Imagine Addison Road singing “Get Back Up Again”. It’s highly hooky, with great vocal harmonies and excellent layering of musical elements.

“Change in the Making” – Written at the time when Jenny Simmons gave birth to their first child, the event caused her to look at her imperfections as a new mother and her need for God to mold her into something she was not. It’s the story of “me” under construction; an unfinished product that strives for perfection but falls short. God’s not through with me.

If you could take a “musical snapshot” of the night the band’s RV incinerated, and had them create a song from this catastrophe, “Won’t Let Me Go” would be it. The heavy guitars throb while the words speak of life being out of control. Yet, despite this major setback, God won’t let go of us. Case in point – the overwhelming prayerful and financial response from fans when the group’s RV burned caused Jenny to reflect, “I just saw this really beautiful side of people working together and reaching out. We were reminded that God is very faithful to move in the hearts of His people. Over and over again, our needs were met in abundance.”

For those that love Addison Road’s unpretentious sound and Jenny Simmons’ soulful syrupy vocals, you will absolutely love this CD! The grooves are at the same time artistic and catchy. Stories is less an album that celebrates the holy attributes of God, but more a candid look at our flaws as humans and our willingness to struggle, forgive, overcome, and prove ourselves wise stewards of our time on this earth. The band’s candid glimpses at imperfection are equally appealing because we can all relate to the pictures they paint. Yet, this is a mature (or the band might prefer “maturing”) Addison Road that brings an infectious groove and a ton of energy to each song on this CD. Addison Road will tell you – after this year of tragedy and triumph, Stories clearly demonstrates – they are ready to fight another day.

Will Instrument Master end up being a good investment for you? There are a bunch of “scams” going around out there, so it is essential that you do the proper research before you purchase any system. So what is the deal on Instrument Master?

Instrument Master is a digital program made to teach you piano and violin. You will find a quick overview of what the product is meant to show you below.

  • Play violin or piano just like a pro
  • Learn rhythm patterns
  • Learn how to read music
  • Raise your stamina by 40% in 30 days
  • Learn to play in every music style
  • Learn how you can obtain high quality instruments for affordable prices or free of charge*
  • Discover the 1 thing you need to get down if you ever wish to be a musician

*Note: Considering how pricey high quality instruments can run, in the event that you don’t know this one, it alone could cover the worth of the product expense.

These types of lists always seem awesome, but does the product match the hype? I’ve heard many say no. On the other hand, most folks I have found feedback from were solely interested in a single musical instrument from the course selection (there are five choices with the bonuses). From those people they seem to believe it’s more of a beginner’s program. Even in the event that it was exclusively a starters course, it costs $30, generally lower than any single lesson you have access to offline.

This program is ideal for those that wish to sample instruments in order to see exactly what they like best. If you’re more advanced, you will find better choices available for mastering a single instrument.

Many individuals are interested in the course just for the extras, such as:

  • The Guitar, Drums, and Bass Bonus (You could learn how to play 5 instruments total)
  • The Instrument Master Music Producer Multimedia Program
  • The Online Beat Maker
  • Music Industry Contacts

In conclusion, Instrument Master isn’t a scam, but it is not right for everybody. Anybody looking into only a single instrument could do better in the way of a study course. Most who bought it agree that you get your money’s worth. But should you decide that it was not worth it after getting it, have no worries. They run their sales through ClickBank, which will always give you a refund within 56 days with absolutely no problems at all.

Lisa Cholodenko makes a lot of good decisions in the smart, funny, and wise The Kids are All Right. The risk of realistic domestic dramas is that they can become overly sentimental, preachy, or acquire a stultifyingly serious pose. This film does none of those things. (Instead, it does three things that are like catnip for me: casts Mark Ruffalo; features the music of David Bowie; spells out the phrase “all right” as two separate words. So, I can’t see how this movie could have gotten less than three stars under any circumstances.)

Annette Bening and Julianne Moore star as Nic and Jules, respectively, a married lesbian couple with two children, Joni, an 18-year-old girl on her way to college, and the unfortunately-named Laser, a 15-year-old boy with that restless teenage attitude common at that age. Joni was birthed by Nic and Laser by Jules, both by the same anonymous donor from a sperm bank. Jules detects a tone of superiority on behalf of Nic when she expresses her concerns about Laser’s development, and both mothers find themselves siding with their biological child more than the other. The children are both eager to get out from under the thumb of their moms. As they strive for independence they seek out their biological father, something which Joni, at age 18, has the right to do.

Enter Paul (Ruffalo), who when contacted barely remembers selling his sperm nearly 20 years earlier, for $30 “a pop.” He remains single and unattached; he never went to college yet owns and runs a successful organic restaurant. Paul looks as relaxed and easygoing as can be, but the secret to the character is that he is always caught off-guard, always playing catch-up with the events around him. His “casual cool” is a coping mechanism which masks his vulnerability. He seems to have no trouble bedding beautiful young employees, which has kept him pleasantly distracted for awhile. But as he becomes faced with the reality that he is part of a larger family has, he comes to realize that a family is what he really wants. Meanwhile, Jules’s own domestic difficulties with Nic have caused her to seek attention elsewhere, and she finds herself in the arms of the father of her children (ironically). For Paul, the sex is a reflex, a fall-back to his comfort zone in the face of big changes and dawning responsibilities.

Despite his best of intentions, Paul hasn’t earned the right to call himself a father, regardless of what happened to his sperm. As the film so clearly elucidates, that right is earned through years of shared experience of living in the same household. The bonds that form are far more special than that of blood. (Take THAT, Mother and Child!) Which is why the movie doesn’t belong to him. The movie belongs to the family, Jules, Nic, and their two kids. Jules and Nic are smart, self-aware people, and they are trying to live their lives as harmoniously as possible. Despite their mutual devotion, they each get caught up in their own day-to-day needs and desires, and out of self-interest they threaten to destroy the whole darn thing (the marriage, that is). Cholodenko, Bening, and Moore illuminate the fragile nature of marriage, and honor those who are able to suppress their egos and honestly work through the difficulties. Jules’s spontaneous and heartfelt declaration in front of the others is note-perfect, and Nic, who at this point isn’t even on speaking terms with her partner, can’t keep from crying.

Each character is given a well-rounded, 3-dimensional characterization. The script is quite funny, although at times I felt it was a bit too light. The actors, especially Ruffalo in the early-going, ably fill in the gaps and bring the audience along. Once or twice too-often, Laser spontaneously asks probing and personal questions, first of Ruffalo, then of his parents, which is a lazy way to move the plot along. These are small complaints. A larger problem is the ending. After Jules’s tearjerker of a speech, the mothers drop Joni off for her first night at her new college. This whole epilogue feels unnecessary. The future remains uncertain, but by this point we already know that there is much love in that house. We don’t need all the tears of joy and the hand-holding.

“Die Hard 2: Die Harder” saw the return of Bruce Willis and Bonnie Bedelia as John and Holly McClane. John McClane was the off-duty police officer who fought terrorists (who were actually motivated by cash rather than politics) who were holding his wife and her co-workers hostage. This time, John is in Washington, waiting for his wife’s plane to land on Christmas Eve.

John’s suspicions are aroused by two men. When he confronts them, he is forced to kill one of them, but the second man escapes. He quickly learns that the one he killed is a mercenary and is convinced that the airport is facing a security threat. It soon arrives in the form of a former special forces unit that hijacks the air traffic control computer systems from their base in a nearby church.

They leave several planes circling the airport, including Holly’s flight. With her on the plane is the obnoxious reporter Richard Thornberg (played by William Atherton) who placed everyone at risk when he put John and Holly’s children on television in the original “Die Hard.” As the landing is delayed and the remaining fuel becomes problematic, he begins trying to find out what is happening. (He must have a frequent flyer credit card and deep pockets to pay for all the calls he makes from his seat phone!)

Meanwhile, the terrorists issue demands. They want a plane fueled and waiting and the release of a drug lord (Franco Nero as Ramon Esperanza) who is being flown in to stand trial. After an abortive attempt by the SWAT team and McClane’s killing of one of the terrorists, their leader retaliates. He uses the traffic system to send false data to one of the planes circling overhead, forcing it to crash.

Enter Major Grant (John Amos) who orders McClane to stand down. Naturally, John does not obey. Instead, he locates the church where the terrorists are based and convinces Grant to order a raid on it. It doesn’t go well, and the terrorists flee on snowmobiles with McClane in pursuit. When the gun he had picked up from a fallen soldier fails to work, he realizes that Grant is working with the terrorists.

Thornberg has managed to piece together enough information to broadcast a story on the situation at the airport, causing a panic. Holly gets the opportunity to belt him again, taking him out of action for the time being.

Airport police attempt to intercept the airplane that the terrorists and Esperanza have boarded. McClane secures a lift on a news copter from a female reporter, and the pilot manages to get him onto the plane’s wing. When Grant comes out to dislodge him, McClane knocks him into the engine, which kills him. The leader of the terrorists does manage to shake McClane loose, but he removes the fuel cover before he falls. As the plane moves down the runway, it leaves a trail of jet fuel, which McClane lights. The fire reaches the fuel tank and the plane is blown up. The planes land, and a battered John meets Holly as she disembarks. One look at his face leaves her asking why these things keep happening to them.

The tarpaulin industry has made extensive progress in recent years by not only adding more color variations to their line of products but by also producing more available sizes. What was once a minimal selection of tarp sizes and colors has transformed into a plethora of choices for the consumer. There is now a tarp size and color for just about every possible application. The newest addition to the tarpaulin industry is the introduction of large tarps.

Large tarps have been produced specifically for areas needing wide coverage such as commercial rooftops, baseball fields, construction sites and more. Availability ranges from sizes 30′ X 50′, 50′ X 50′ and can even be as large as 170′ X 170′. Tarps, particularly those made of polyethylene, have grown in popularity in recent years due to the fact that they are lower in cost than other outdoor fabrics and that they are durable in both hot and cold temperatures. Polyethylene is naturally mildew, rot and mold resistant and can be left outdoors for years without succumbing to derogation caused by UV exposure. These characteristics along with the relatively lightweight nature of polyethylene have made the poly tarp the premier choice for outdoors coverage.

Large, heavy-duty tarps are commonly 12 Mil. in thickness and are retrofitted with grommets every 18 inches. The heavy-duty tarp is manufactured for applications that require longer coverage and to hold up to long periods of exposure, each poly tarp is triple laminated to ensure that it is a fully waterproof membrane. To further enhance the longevity of a large poly tarp, manufacturers typically treat each cover inside and out with UV blockers as well as including added fade blockers, anti aging, anti-yellowing and anti-microbial agents.

Although there are many different sizes of poly tarps available, large tarps are useful in the sense that they complete the job with the use of one single cover. There is no longer a need to purchase several smaller tarps to accomplish a large job, as has been the case in previous years. Large tarp covers are available in several colors and include Blue, Green, Silver and White. Due to their overall size, most large tarps are shipped to the consumer on a single or double pallet through LTL freight.

Are you looking for how to get great deals on Sanford Prismacolor Pencils? Prismacolor pencils can be very expensive, but there are places where either discounts or great deals are available. However, finding these places may be difficult and time consuming. Thus, as an avid fan and user of Prismacolor pencils, I wrote this article to tell you how you can get really good deals on these quality color pencils.

What can Prismacolor Pencils do for you?

Imagine that you are walking down an isle in a store or sitting in your car running errands, and you have that spark of an idea – one that could potentially become the defining piece in your art series. The only thing you have with you is a pad of paper and a regular #2 pencil. You make some quick sketches, but they don’t seem to speak to you or come alive without the intense color that the image in your head possesses. By the time you arrive home, that spark has disappeared.

I don’t know how often this happens to you, but I’ve lost a large number of those great sparks of creativity in just this way. However, I’ve greatly changed this regularly reoccurring scenario with just the addition of a set of Sanford Prismacolor Pencils.

Prismacolors work effectively in this situation as they offer transportable color. So when that spark of an idea hits you, not only can you quickly sketch out the idea before it disappears, but you can work quickly in color, allowing you to see your spark on paper.

Why do People Prefer Prismacolors?

In their reviews, a number of people have reiterated some advantages to Prismacolors over other artists’ pencils. This include, but are not limited to:

  • The pencils are versatile, and look great whether simply sketching or creating a complete work of art.
  • Prismacolors leave a bold, creamy color on the drawing surface when pressure is added. This works well for making bold, colorful works of art.
  • Prismacolors adhere well on many different surfaces. This means that they work on a number of different paper types (even the less expensive ones).
  • The pencils blend well no matter what style you are using.

So Where can you Find Great Deals on Sanford Prismacolor Pencils?

You can go into any craft store and buy a set of these color pencils. However, expect to pay a hefty price. Online, prices vary widely, with many sites offering discounts and others offering every-day low prices.

Finding the site with the lowest price may be difficult and time consuming, however. Shipping and handling must also be added (which may, for some sites, actually make the pencils more expensive than buying at a traditional store). There are online sites where you can buy prismacolors for less. Your best bet is to find someone who knows all about finding these sites for you, saving you the time and trouble. I have done just that for you.

Are you looking for cheap prismacolor verithin pencils? There are a large number of traditional stores online sites that sell prismacolor verithin pencil sets for great low prices or with discounted prices. However, finding these low prices may be difficult and time consuming. Thus, I wrote this article to tell you how you can get really cheap prices on prismacolor verithin pencils.

What are Prismacolor Verithins used for?

Verithin pencils are different in a number of ways from their prismacolor premier pencil counterparts. The premier pencils are thick, with a soft pigment that leaves a bold, creamy color on the drawing surface. This makes these pencils great for adding color to large areas quickly. However, these pencils become dull after a small amount of use, and must be continuously resharpened, making them difficult to use for small areas or detail work.

This is where a set of prismacolor verithins comes in very handy.

Verithin colored pencils are smaller with harder pigment. The pencils tips can be sharpened to a very fine point, and the harder pigment makes these pencils more useful for a large amount of detail work without the need to be continuously resharpened. This not only makes them a great companion to the premier pencil sets, but also allows them to be used with other mediums, such as markers, ink, pastels, and others.

Another great advantage to these pencils is that, because of the harder pigment and smaller coverage area, the set can last a long time without need of renewing any of the pencils. Thus, you save money while still creating quality works of art.

So How do you find Cheap Prismacolor verithin pencils?

To be perfectly blunt, purchasing this item in craft or art stores (traditional stores) will cost more than ordering online. Just because these pencils are definitely worth it, doesn’t mean that you need to pay this high price.

Alternatively, there are a number of online sites that offer year-round low prices or temporary discounts, but finding these sites may be difficult and time consuming. Your best bet is to find someone who knows all about finding these sites for you, saving you the time and trouble. I have done just that for you.

Functionality, portability, and power are some of the factors that you need to look into before buying a food processor. The cheapest models are the mini food processors, and you can get them over $100. Cuisinart offers a great line of devices but there are still other trusted brands in the market like Kitchenaid, Hamilton Beach, Chefs, and many others.

The commercial and pro models are larger, which are suitable for chefs and cooks. For the typical housewife, the classic model is ideal. Regardless of the rival of brands in the market, you can find a suitable device to meet your needs. Functionality is the first thing to consider. The features of the device you choose will determine the functionality. Determine your needs first before shopping so that you can compare the features.

When it comes to portability, the mini processors are ideal because of their relatively small size. Still, the larger models are also portable as compares to the blender. Besides, you don’t need to add any more water when you are mincing, shredding, slicing, and chopping. The end product will be less messy and will make your foods tastier.

The power of a mini device is around 400 watts but the professional grade can reach around 750 watts. Look for a device with the right power and add-on like whisks, additional blades, and bowl. Hurry and start buying the food processor today. These are the things you need to look out for. Getting the best deal is quite easy if you shop online.

Florist shops are now a common and every day part of life. We take for granted how easy it is to purchase flower species from around the world and send them as gifts to loved ones. The origin of the florist, however, makes an interesting story in its own right.

Early in the 17th century, tulip bulbs were being brought back from the Ottoman Empire to the Netherlands for the first time. The flowers quickly became desirable luxury items, specifically due to their ability to thrive in the Dutch climate. Demand very quickly outstripped supply, as very few of these flowers were being grown domestically at the time. More importantly, though, a form of the mosaic virus (which became known as the “Tulip Breaking” virus) could transform the petals of ordinary Tulips into brightly coloured flowers with vibrant lines and geometry.

Growers would capitalise on the demand and named their most beautiful and rarest bulbs with grand names, such as the Admirael or Generael. As “Tulip Mania” progressed, the names of flowers became more ostentatious, referencing Alexander the Great, and the famous Roman general Scipio. Flowers would be sold at the ’spot market’, a marketplace where goods were sold and changed hands right away, but since they were only available from these early florists for a few months of each year, people also entered contracts to purchase bulbs that had not yet been planted.

Demand reached fever pitch. Two Semper Augustus bulbs are recorded to have been exchanged for 12 acres of land; a single bulb of the Viceroy tulip was sold for goods worth 2500 florins (including 4000 litres of beer, four oxen, two tons of butter, and a bed) – where the average yearly wage of a skilled labourer was only 150 florins. Clearly, this was unsustainable.

In early February the price index of bulbs collapsed, almost overnight, from 200 florins to just one. Such was the effect on the economy that the government had to step in and void all contracts on tulip bulbs. Whilst the get-rich-quick days had ended, the doors to modern flower trading had been opened.
